Lack Sleep could lead to Weight Gain
The reason why weight gain can be associated to lack of sleep because there was a study conducted that found out a connection of lack of sleep and obesity. The truth is any individual who do not get enough sleep have an increasing risk factor to become obese. The recommended sleeping hours is 7, but it was found out that individual who only get who only sleep at half of the recommended hours are more likely to become overweight and obese than those who get enough sleep. This is also the reason why those who are on weight loss should also have enough sleep. It is true that we burn fewer calories when we sleep than when we are awake but because of the added time that we have we also have the time to eat or consume more calories making us overweight. Another point is that a substance in the body called grehlin is increased which could make you eat more. Lack of sleep also reduces the amount of leptin in the body, a substance that suppresses appetite. Lack of sleep could be caused by sleeping problems, and if to get the right amount of sleep despite of the sleeping problems, we need a sleep aid. Sleep aid can help produce melatonin in the body, a substance which acts as sedative getting us to sleep.
